CP pallet

Also called: CP1, CP3, CP9, chemical pallet

Definition

CP pallets are nine standard block pallet designs, CP1 to CP9, used by the chemical and plastics industry in Europe. Each type has a fixed size and construction: CP1 to CP5 are runner types, while CP6 to CP9 have perimeter or frame bottoms, for example CP1 at 1000 x 1200 mm and CP3 at 1140 x 1140 mm.

Why chemical shippers use them

CP pallets give chemical and plastics producers a small set of known designs (defined by the European chemical industry associations APME and VCI). Because each design is fixed, a CP pallet is ordered by type number rather than drawn from scratch. PDS added features for CP designs, such as bottom boards between blocks (CP7) and flush overlap bottoms (CP9).

Questions

Is a CP2 pallet the same as a Euro pallet?
No. CP2 shares the 800 x 1200 mm footprint with the EUR pallet, but it is a separate chemical-industry design with a runner-type bottom.
